The Association is led by the Board of Directors, which is elected every three years and includes, in addition to the CEOs of the banks, a number of independent members.

The Board of Directors has all the powers to manage the Association’s business and activities and coordinate with the Central Bank of Bahrain, which is the supervisory authority on the Association’s activities.

The Board of Directors shall appoint a full-time Chief Executive Officer and delegate to him all the necessary powers to manage and conduct the daily business of the Association.
The Board of Directors meets four times a year. It also holds extraordinary meetings if necessary.

The Association also formed 13 permanent committees, each of which specializes in various banking issues (please see the permanent committees section on the website) and consists of the heads of the concerned departments, in which each committee specializes, in member banks. These committees, according to their terms of reference, review the tasks assigned to them or that they set themselves, and make recommendations regarding them to the executive management of the Association.
